Meet the Genesee Leadership
Roger has served as President and CEO of Genesee since 1998. He began his career as a commercial underwriter at Fireman’s Fund in 1982. Roger has worked with several insurance carriers focusing on large lines casualty products. Previous to joining Genesee, he was Regional Vice President of Crum & Forster’s Atlanta Region. When Roger became CEO of Genesee, the company was a small MGA with 3.5 million in annual premium focused on the state of Georgia. Today, Genesee is a national company with MGA and Wholesale writings in excess of $130 million in annualized premium. Genesee now writes a broad array of coverages focusing on the E&S commercial segment. Genesee has also been named as a 5 Star wholesale company 2 yrs in a row by Insurance Business America. Roger served on the board of the American Association of Managing General Agents serving as President in 2015. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of West Chester University of Pennsylvania. Roger holds a B.S. degree from West Chester University of Pennsylvania, Masters in Business Administration from the University of Colorado and the designation of Associate in Risk Management from the Insurance Institute.
AIU, Vice President
Kim has served as Executive Vice President/Secretary at Genesee since 1998. Kim has worked in the insurance industry since 1987, starting out on the retail side and owned her own independent insurance agency for five years. Kim also worked for two different wholesale brokerage firms as a commercial lines underwriter specializing in product liability. Kim holds a B.S. degree in International Trade and Finance from Louisiana State University.
CPCU, Vice President/Secretary
Felicia began her career with Genesee in 1984. She has held several positions with the company including transportation underwriter. She currently serves as Vice President with responsibilities over underwriting and administrative duties. She received the CPCU designation from The American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters in 2000.
Andy is the Chief Financial Officer of Genesee. He has 30 years of corporate accounting experience in a broad range of industries. Most recently he was the Director of Financial Reporting for a local MGA and its subsidiary, a Georgia-domiciled P&C carrier. Andy’s expertise includes GAAP and statutory financial reporting, analysis, forecasting, systems implementation, and cash management. He serves as the CFO and accounting department manager for all of the Genesee entities. Andy graduated from Yale University with a B.S. in Biology. He has lived in Georgia for 30 years, and currently resides in Marietta with his wife and two children.
President – Specialty Property
David serves as President of Genesee’s Specialty Property division, which was established in April 2008. An Atlanta native and a 1992 graduate of the University of Georgia with a BBA degree in Accounting, David began his insurance career in 1995 with Federated Insurance Company in Atlanta. While at Federated, he worked as a commercial underwriter before moving to the position of Retail Producer. David joined Wood Special Risk as a Property Broker in 2003 and served as Vice President and Manager of the Property Department.
Vice President of Property and Casualty
Adam is an Atlanta native and a 1999 graduate of the University of Georgia with a BBA in Risk Management & Insurance. He began his career as a commercial lines producer for the Norton Agency in Gainesville, GA. In 2005, Adam joined Genesee as a Property Casualty Underwriter/ Broker.
Vice President of Marketing
Amy serves as Vice President of Marketing. Amy is a Georgia native and a graduate of Georgia State University majoring in Risk Management & Insurance. She started her insurance career underwriting workers’ comp, P & C and transportation risks with Golden Isles Underwriters. In 2000, she joined SIU as a Commercial P & C Underwriter. In 2004 she joined Genesee where she managed underwriting commercial risks and marketing. In 2008, she then moved over to full-time marketing where she manages the branding of the company – from the website to marketing materials while still calling on the independent agencies and attending the conventions in the Southeast area and collaborating with our branch offices on marketing efforts.
Vice President/General Manager of Insurance Payment Company (IPC)
Mary Elizabeth serves as the Vice President and General Manager of Insurance Payment Company, our in-house premium finance company. She is responsible for the operations, the management of agency relationships as well as the continued growth of the division. Mary Elizabeth joins us with over twelve years of experience in the premium finance industry. She started her career with a national premium finance company in 2005 and assumed several roles in Operations and Marketing Management during her more than nine year tenure there. Her most recent positions in the industry include Vice President of Credit as well as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. She is a native of South Carolina and has relocated to Alpharetta, GA with her husband and two daughters to join our team. Mary Elizabeth is an avid college football fan and a devoted supporter of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks. She has a B.S. degree from Francis Marion University.
Director /AVP of Underwriting Services
Michelle began her insurance career in 1996 with National Reinsurance, she helped open a new branch/division of CNA Reinsurance in Alpharetta, Georgia in 1997. She joined Genesee in 2003 as an Assistant P & C Underwriter. She then became the Team Leader of Assistants in the P & C Dept. in 2005, Administrative Supervisor of Assistants in 2007 and Underwriting Services Manager in 2013. She currently serves as Director/AVP of Underwriting Services.
Colorado Branch -Marketing, Assistant Vice President
Patrick O’Hara worked in the gaming industry for 8 years, prior to representing Professional Independent Insurance Agents of Colorado (PIIAC), as the Marketing and Communications Director. With his relationship-centered approach to business, he was successful at helping grow the membership base. In addition, he developed effective communication and marketing strategies, coordinated and improved participation at events, assisted independent insurance agencies with co-branding and marketing opportunities available through the state association. He is a graduate of Metropolitan State University of Denver, with a B.A. in Psychology. Patrick started at Genesee as a marketing representative where he was then promoted to Marketing Manager of our Colorado Branch office. In 2019, he was then promoted to Assistant Vice President.
Colorado Branch – Vice President
Tara Weigle began her insurance career in 1985 at Maryland Casualty, an admitted carrier. After leaving the company side, she worked at a retail agency for 11 years underwriting a national hospitality program for all lines of business including Property, Casualty, Auto, Professional and E &S. She then moved to Burns & Wilcox as an Underwriter for Property, Casualty, and Professional insurance. Tara joined the Colorado office of Genesee in 2009 as a Commercial lines Underwriter and in 2017 she was named the P & C Manager. In 2018, she was promoted to Assistant Vice President of our Colorado branch, then in 2019 promoted to Vice President, while still maintaining and growing her book of business.
AVP, Branch Manager
Marcela Connor joined the Genesee team as AVP, Branch Manager of our new branch office in Charlotte, NC in Sept of 2019. Marcela discovered her passion for insurance while she was a commercial lines marketing intern in the Lake Charles, LA area at a local independent agency while attending McNeese State University. Marcela relocated to North Carolina with her family and then began a position on the MGA side of Burns & Wilcox. There she started as an associate underwriter, underwriter, started the training program growing into a Brokerage Manager position where she built the middle market team. She graduated from NYU with a Master’s degree in Risk Management and is currently working towards her CPCU designation. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her children.
